Here are just a few of the awesome fun drawings we got from March's session. Thanks to those who attended. Thanks to the new attendees. It was a pleasure having you all come out. Hope to see you in April. For those who aren't aware of what's going on here, I'll explain a little. A little over a year ago I invited a bunch of artists and people I knew who enjoyed both socializing and doodling to get together at a local pub in Guelph, Ontario. We met up and drew all night. Of course we had some drinks hence the idea of a drink and draw. Now a year and a bit later we're still going strong with new people showing up each month. The most we've had attend is 26 people. We average around 12 - 15 people. It's always a nice time for those who come.

I just realized as I am typing that we should have done a Valentine's theme. Well at least I should have done that. Oh well. Next time. Here is a small selection of February's session of the Drink & Draw. Thanks again for all those who came out. Once again it was nice to see some new faces out. Rhonda Mulder joined us. She's a new resident of our lovely Guelph. Rhonda is a fantastic illustrator who's work you can see more of by going to the link on the right. Until next time.

FINALLY AN UPDATE

Hello to whomever still checks out this blog. It's been WAY too long since my last post. Well I'm here now. Above are some images that I picked from the hundreds that I've collected since starting the Guelph Drink & Draw.
I thank everyone who have been coming. It's been going for a little over a year now and still seems to be attracting a lot of people. That I'm grateful for.
I don't think I'll be able to post all the drawings we do in a single session. Some nights we're quite prolific and therefor the amount of images created far exceed the amount I have time to post. I've decided to just pick a small handful (no more than 10) of the images to post. I'm going to get into the habit of posting the day after the last session. Not 10 months later.
So for now look at these until later this week when I post the fresh images.

24 Hour COMICS DAY.

Just thought I'd pass this on to all the drink and draw people who would like to attend this event.

24 Hour Comics Day (www.24hourcomicsday.com) will take place at The Dragon (Old Quebec Street Mall) on Saturday October 3rd from 8am until 1am. Although not actually 24 hours, the idea is to come in and draw for at least some part of 17 hours in an attempt to create a full 24-page comic. Food, drinks, and drawing supplies will be provided (although please bring any supplies you prefer to work with). This worldwide event has never been held in Guelph before, and we hope this is the beginning of a new tradition at The Dragon.

MAKE UP.

Sorry for the lack of post in the past several months. It's been a busy summer. We've still been meeting up each month and we've produced lots and lots of fun drawings. Here are some more but there's lots more where they came from. It just gets to be too much to scan and post all of the drawings each month so I've decided to just post a small sample of what comes out of each session.

Here are the results of the Easter session. Again a huge thanks to everyone who came out. There was such an amazing turn out. We had at least 26 or so people. The most I think I've ever seen there. It's so great. I look forward to more people coming out.

VALENTINE'S DAY WAS THE THEME

Thanks once again for those who came out to yet another Drink & Draw session. I think this was the most productive session yet. I only posted some of the pile of images we did. DRINK & DRAW ROUND 3

HELLO everyone!! It's that time again. The next Drink & Draw is coming up and just in time for Valentines Day. I propose this time that we use our creative skills to create Valentines Day inspired images. LOVE/HATE is the theme. We'll pool our collective resources to come up with wonderful drawings that come from a place of love or deep resentment. Either way they should be funny as hell, I'm sure.

Drink & DRAW: ROUND 2

I am a little tardy I admit but here are some of the drawings that we came up with after the second night at the Penny Whistle. I thank everyone who came out this time around. It was nice to see some new faces. I hope this is the pattern for the next one.

WELCOME!!

Welcome to the first of what will be many entries to this blog. I created this blog to showcase some of the nonsense that has come out of a night of drinking and drawing with some wonderful people from Guelph, Ontario.

Inspired by illustator Aaron Leighton, I decided to start a pen club in Guelph. It's open to anyone who want's to swing by. The only requirements are that you like to socialize, you like to do art of some kind, and you are willing to work with others. Other then that there really isn't any skill level required. Mandatory for me is that you are a fun person you loves good conversation.

The first meeting was a huge success and I'd love to extend a huge thanks to those who came out. I hope to continue this throughout 2009 and see if it picks up.

With out further adieu here is some samples of the random silliness that results in the consumption of alcohol. Enjoy.
